  • I have been to this place for a while.  This use to be a hot spot for all student because it cheap, fast, tasty and the portions are massive.

So today I think it need to be done up a bit.  The place is starting to looked a little sorry for itself, a lot of the furniture and walls are getting worn.  It could be that my expectations are changing.  Portions are as still large but I don’t think it taste the way it use to be, that’s the curry sauce for my Chicken Katsu Curry I was referring to.

Overall not as great as it use to be.

  • Satsuma Revisited.

It has been a while since I have been there. Appearance wise not much has changed although I have to admit standards has dropped a bit since I went. My partner thought it was interesting how a couple of the lines on the menu was tip-ex out. Little did we know when we came to ordering the lady didn’t know what we were asking for. I guess you can’t blame her if they have never have sold this but it does make me wonder why is it still on the menu when the others were removed.

Charashi is still very nice and colourful with lots of different fishes cut up into small pieces and also a salad on the side. The colour was very enticing and very alluring. I like the fact that they have cut in to smaller pieces.

I thought there was a little spoiler where the waiter keep chatting loudly next to us and to be frank a little in attractive.

Food was still fine but there are some aspects i did find disappointing.

  • I like this little local Malaysian Restaurant.  It is a little difficult to park because it is located in the main road.  I have been there a couple of times now and each time I found it very warm and welcoming.  The restaurant itself is very small but enough space for you to comfortably move around.

I really do enjoy the food there.  They have an exceptional sweet and sour ribs and it is not something you get from a take away.  The ribs has been deep fried so it is crispy and the sauce is not sharp or too sweet but fragrant.  The ribs are decorated with colourful vegetables.  Their Hoi Lam Gai Fan is full of flavour, the chicken is not over cooked but very juicy and tender.   I would like to try their drinks as well they have a very big collection fruit blended drinks.

With great the service and quality of food I do think it is value for money and would be going there again.

  • This is located right outside Clifford’s Tower so it s quite a view in the evening if you seated near and facing the window and ne one side of the wall is decorated with a magnificent painting.

We settled for the set menu, which we thought was a value for money.  The one we selected was a two course meal where you can select from a small range of dishes.

For starters we had the calamari and ravioli. Calamari was very crispy and was presented on a bed of salad as well as a dollop of garlic mayo. My Salmon was a little unexciting a little dull.

The waiters are very help and friendly, it was a shame the first time I went here it was very crowded this time it was slightly more quite.
